I spent the day making childrens cards and some masculine cards. I've not made a lot of childrens cards, but am very satisfied with what I made today. I think they look colourful and fun. I love this Stampin' Up! set of Fox and Friends! And typically Baroque Motifs by Stampin' Up! has been a ladies stamp set, but I love what happened when I punched the square motif out with the scallop circle punch and put a jumbo eyelet in the centre... It looks so smart and classic.

I had an enjoyable afternoon yesterday just making a couple of cards for the fun of it! I love the Stampin' Up! set Vintage Vogue, it is so versatile. I used the Stampin' Up! Colour Coach for my colour selection, and I am delighted with the outcome. I used Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla, and Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon. The greeting on the butterfly card is from Sale-a-bration set So Happy For You. And I just love my Big Shot!!

Here is this week's CardPatterns Sketch 110. I made this using Stampin' Up! Rose Red, Perfect Plum, Very Vanilla cardstock, and Just Believe stamp set. I love the sketches! To make this card, I started with the sketch, picked my colour scheme and chose the stamp set I wanted to use... then sat down and began... and I love the result!

This is the card we made in our last workshop. Its made with Stampin' Up! products and uses several stamp sets. I used Crumb Cake cardstock, designer series papers, and Early Espresso and Marina Mist inks.

Card Patterns & Workshops

I love my workshops! The last two workshops have been so exciting as the ladies have brought their 'homework' with them to show it off. Card patterns are so much fun, you just start with a simple design and use whatever stamps, papers, cardstock and embellishments that you fancy, and make your own beautiful creation. There are several websites that offer patterns to stimulate your creative ideas. Our next workshop is Wednesday, 6th April... I'm looking forward to seeing what the ladies bring for show and tell next time.

Workshops for 2011

Well, 2011 is well under way! We had our first workshop the second week of January, then I was away for 3 weeks (went to India!!), and had our second workshop last week. They are now running fortnightly again. The cost for the workshop is $12 each, which covers the cost of materials you will use to make 2 beautiful projects to take home with you. Each workshop will include a new technique, and you will make at least one project using that technique. At our next workshop on 24th February we will be using two different watercolouring techniques, and learn how to make a very simple paper flower to embellish your cards or scrapbook pages with. So come along! You'll have a lot of fun.

I love making handmade cards!! I haven't blogged here for so long, I guess I've just been busy making cards. Another year is nearly over, and I'm still a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I've spent this year holding fortnightly workshops in my home, which I've enjoyed so much, and look forward to another round next year. We have our last day together on Wednesday for 2010. We've been making Christmas cards for the last few workshops, learning how to mix and match some beautiful Christmas colours, and learning some exciting new techniques. Keep checking in to see what we're doing in 2011. With Stampin' Up! there is Sale-a-bration starting in January, where if you spend $100, you get a FREE stamp set! And the Summer Mini is running from 1 December to 31 March. World Cardmaking Day Event

The first part of this special World Cardmaking Day event took place in Drouin West, West Gippsland, on Thursday 15th October. The ladies enjoyed the Card Buffet, being able to choose what they wanted to make from a selection of 10 different card designs. Everything they needed was on hand for them to make their cards, along with an instruction sheet for each card. They made some beautiful cards and all went home happy with their creative projects.

The next part of this special cardmaking event is to be held on Friday night, 30th October, in Drouin West, from 7pm to 10 pm. The cost for this Card Buffet is as follows :

Entry fee : $5.00 + $2.00 for each card made.

World Card Making Day Event in Drouin West

To celebrate World Card Making Day 2009 I'm having a special event called a CARD BUFFET! Yes, its just what it sounds like - a buffet where you choose which card or cards you'd like to make and go for it!

How it works: Kits will be available, and you choose what you'd like to make. Some techniques will be demonstrated, and I will be on hand to help if needed. Make as many cards as your heart desires, you pay for what you make. You can stay the whole time or come and go as you need to.

Tea/Coffee & Nibbles included.

Venue: Drouin West, Victoria
When: Thursday 15th October, 11am-4pm, and Friday 30th October, 7pm-10pm.
RSVP: 12th October (for 15th), and 26th October (for 30th).

Stamp a Stack

Friday Night Stampin' Clubs ~ the date is set!!

We finally have a date for the commencement of our Friday night Stampin' Club!

Date : 31st July
Time : 7.30 pm

Our Friday night clubs will be held on the last Friday of each month. The cost to join the Club is only $5.00, and you will receive a FREE gift for joining... PLUS all the benefits of being a member. The cost for each Club is $10.00 (deducted for orders placed over $50 on the night), for the two cards you'll make, using our fabulous cardstock, and accessories and embellishments. If you don't want to join the Club, but would like to come along to share in the fun, that's fine! The cost for the 2 cards you will make is still $10.00.

Quick, Easy and Delightful!

My daughter had a friend to stay on the weekend, and we had an impromptu cardmaking session! And this is what we made - so simple, yet so lovely. We used the Not Quite Navy from the Rich Regals cardstock, and Whisper White. We rolled the Watercolour Joy Stampin' Around Wheel with Ballet Blue ink over the Whisper White, then tore it diagonally across the bottom. We stamped the flower from the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set in Ballet Blue on Whisper White, tore the top and bottom and distressed the edges with our fingernail, and stamped 'love you' in Always Artichoke ink as the flower's stem, from the Short & Sweet stamp set, and finished it off with a piece of Whisper White Taffeta ribbon, a silver brad, and the heart stamp from the Short & Sweet stamp set in Craft Whisper White ink.

As an Independent Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator I am learning some wonderful new ways to make beautiful cards and scrapbook pages that I would love to share with you. I had my second Stampin' Up!® workshop at my home. What fun we all had! We used the Baroque Motif© set of stamps. I demonstrated the card, and gave the ladies the basic outline, and let them have fun using the stamps and inkpads as they chose. It was great to see how creative they all were, and just what can be done with one set of stamps and 4 colours! They were all so different, but wonderfully individual and creative. I am so loving being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!! :)

My first workshop!

Well I've done my first Stampin' Up!® workshop! I was very happy with it, my hostess had invited several people and there were 6 of us altogether, which I felt a good number for my first go. They were very kind to be my guinea pigs! Truly good friends indeed :)

I spent the week before making a few cards using the 'Heartfelt Thanks'© set as samples to show what can be done with just one set, and we used that set for our workshop as well. The blue card at the back with the 3 flowers, was the one the ladies made to take home.

Hi everyone, this is Janette and I'm an Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator in West Gippsland in Victoria, Australia, an absolutely beautiful part of our wonderful country! I have been making cards for about 5 years and just love it. I was receiving handmade cards from a friend and decided to give it a go myself, and was quickly hooked! Now I can do it with others and help them find their creative side as well, while having heaps of fun doing it!
